HI!! Thanks for visiting my blog. My name is Candace. I am a teacher, writer and an insomniac. I was born and raised in Washington, DC.  I moved to the suburbs (Howard County, Maryland) for the sake of my husband and children.  And although I think it was a smart decision to move here, I desperately miss living in the city.  I don’t exactly see myself as a suburban wife and mom but I cannot escape it at times. I have had chronic insomnia for the better part of 10 years. I just can’t sleep. One of my dearest friends once told me that it’s because I’m unfulfilled. I think that could be accurate.

I write professionally about health topics, specifically sexual health. I freelance for several publications on-line and in print.  But those articles are news pieces with very little of my point of view in them.  This blog is my sounding board to say all the things I want about my life, pop culture, politics, my passions, and the things I observe about Howard County. Feel free to comment all you like. Just do not disrespect me or other people who choose to comment.

Let’s be clear on something else. This blog is not a mouth piece for any organization or club or group or particular sub population. I am not a gun for hire. I speak for me.
