The 2015 Women’s Legislative Briefing is coming!!!!

Yeah baby YEAH!!! Picture it. A college campus in Montgomery County, Maryland on a crisp, Sunday afternoon in January. Information, exhibits, keynote address, riveting workshops, political big wigs from the state and county levels (except Howard County. Sorry!), and smiles, smiles, smiles. The 2015 Women’s Legislative Briefing is coming in a little over a month and I swore last year that I would spread the word to my readers when it comes again. I never get excited about political meetings but this one for some reason keeps my interest. Maybe it’s the networking with other women from across the state that gets me buzzed.  Or the time we get to chat and take pictures with state level representatives. Or getting informed (without getting overwhelmed) about legislation that would have otherwise missed me. Whatever it is about this conference it really revs me up and I have deemed it worthy of my Sunday afternoon.

My question in all of this is why….WHY do I have to drive nearly 45 minutes away from home to get access to this? Really. Please explain that to me. Where is the Howard County Women’s Commission (don’t we have one?)? What’s up with the Howard County League of Women Voters? Where for art thou women-based organizations and non-profits of County de Howard? Why can’t they all pull together and put something like this on at Turf Valley? They could even collaborate with nearby counties like Baltimore and Anne Arundel to really pull this off. For shame!!!

Well, anyway. I’m excited and I can’t wait for January to come. I invite you to join me at this conference. And share this post as an invitation. This is the best start to my new year and I hope it will be a great start for you. All the information you need to know is in the flyer. Click here to register.

See ya there kids!!

  1. We do indeed have a commission for women. And the league of women voters and the commission are doing a joint conference April 25, 2015.
